Spotlight on… North East Wedding Photographer Daz Mack: Image 1

Dreaming of your perfect wedding pictures? Why not think about booking North East snapper Daz Mack for your big day? We caught up with the wedding photographer for a five minute chat…

How did you get in to wedding photography?
"My girlfriend bought me my first ever professional camera for Valentine's Day about 10 years ago. I knew I should probably learn how to use it properly so I enrolled on some adult education courses and night college to study my A levels while working full time. After about a year and a half a friend from work asked me to photograph his wedding, and after shooting there all day I fell in love with it. It was exactly what I wanted to pursue as a career. Up until this point I had been photographing things like cars and landscapes, but weddings was a whole other ball game and I knew it was for me!"

What do you love the most about your job?
"This is going to sound so cheesy and typical but I love everything about it! I love making friends with the couples and guests and having great laughs. I love being able to capture these important moments for people, it means so much that people allow me to be a part of the day. I especially LOVE that I get to attend a party as my job. I get to go and photograph loads of people dressed to their best while they watch two people in love get married, and then they all get drunk and throw shapes on the dance floor!"

What do you love the most about living in the North East?
"I love that we have Chicken Parmesans (parmos) and the rest of the country doesn't! I also love that we have so many venues that are so different from each other. You can travel 40 minutes in any direction and you could be at the seaside, in the middle of the countryside, up on the moors or in the middle of a city. The North East is amazing!"

Why pick you over anyone else?
"Because I am a photographer extraordinaire! If you want fun, relaxed photography, without being told where to stand and how to smile all day then I'm your man. I'm all about capturing the natural moments, where people are actually laughing and having a good time, and aren't nervous because that ginger guy in the bush is pointing a camera at them."
