Award-winning Middlesbrough venue - and special offer to boot!

Still searching for the perfect wedding venue? Step forward Middlesbrough's Acklam Hall, voted the number one romantic space to get married in the English Wedding Awards.

The only Grade I listed building in the area, the Hall was built in 1683 and underwent a multi-million-pound makeover in 2016. Its most recently updated space, the Queen's Room, was completed in February, and has now been transformed into an elegant bridal suite, with both four-poster bed and freestanding bath.

Acklam Hall also houses the award-winning Tomahawk Steakhouse as its resident restaurant, with menu options including the Tomahawk Feast for steak lovers, or more traditional wedding cuisine.

Award win for Northumberland wedding venue

Situated in Northumberland, Ellingham Hall has been awarded Event Team of the Year at The Wedding Industry Awards 2022.

The event took place at The Vermont Hotel and highlighted talented companies from England, Scotland and Wales. Set in eight acres, the hall has been offering exclusive weddings for more than 15 years and has a team of 40 hardworking individuals.

After substantial remodelling in 2021, Newcastle Cathedral will host its first large-scale exhibition from February 16th to March 24th, 2022. A Century of Wedding Gowns will showcase wedding dresses and accessories from the last 140 years collected and curated by Sunderland-based Kevin Thornhill. He studied Art and Design at Manchester University to work in theatre wardrobe. After serving his time with London theatres and the Emanuels where he was a member of the team making Diana, Princess of Wales, wedding gown before returning to the North East to run his own wedding business.
