Britain's Best Bridesmaid 2019: North East Finalists Revealed

Britain's Best Bridesmaid 2019: North East Finalists Revealed: Image 1

Hen and stag experts Red7 have been scouring the country in search of Britain's Best Bridesmaid 2019.

After examining nearly 500 entries, the judges have whittled it down to 14 elite 'maids that truly went above and beyond for their bestie's big days!

The two bridesmaids chosen to represent the North East are Emma Reed, 34, from Blyth in Northumberland (in the left picture) and Melissa Kane, 28, from Newcastle (in the right).

Nominating Emma Reed, bride Kat Sterling said: “In the run up to our wedding, we were hit with the awful snow and we didn't know if it was actually going to go ahead until the day before. Emma kept me calm and stopped me from totally breaking down.

“My wedding ended up with one of my bridesmaids causing a huge fight, which lead to a family fall out and a huge scene. Without Emma there dealing with the bridesmaid and her family, the wedding would have ended before the evening reception had even started. They even tried to cause another scene later on, which Emma again took control of.

“I have a huge cloud over my wedding day memories, but when I think back to how amazing Emma was, how she was by my side the whole time and how she did everything in her power to keep me happy, I feel so privileged to have had such an incredible bridesmaid by my side.”

Bride Christina Dawson nominated Melissa Kane and told the judges: “She pulled off an amazing hen do whilst pretending to drink as no one knew she was pregnant at the time. She was also suffering from hyperemesis.

“Melissa treated me to an amazing spa evening the week before and came to tons of dress fittings so we could alter her dress to fit her ever growing bump. I got married in June and she was an absolute trooper in the heat. Even though she was six months pregnant, she stayed at the wedding right until the end, all the while suffering with severe sickness.

“She's a phenomenal friend who is always there when I need her, and I honestly don't think I could have had a better bridesmaid.”

Sarah Chapman, Head of Hen, Stag and Sten at Red7, commented: “Congratulations to our finalists! We've been overwhelmed by the incredible stories sent in by nearly 500 grateful brides nominating their besties – our judges had their work cut out to shortlist just 14!

“We've been organising hen dos for over 21 years and have witnessed first-hand the energy and dedication by bridesmaids up and down the country to put on the best possible event for their squads. We're looking forward to crowing our winner in the coming weeks and helping her celebrate with a well-deserved luxury spa weekend.”

The winning bridesmaid will receive an incredible prize – a luxury spa weekend in London to share with her bestie.
