The Exchange 1856 has completed its seven-figure refurbishment programme. The Victorian building, which is located on Howard Street in the heart of the Cultural Quarter, is one of North Tyneside’s most stunning architectural landmarks.

Every area of The Exchange 1856 has been updated and improved to create a spectacular and glamorous interior. Original architectural features such as fireplaces, ornate architraves and stained-glass windows have been restored to their former glory and complemented with high-quality fixtures and fittings, new flooring and panelling in soft heritage colours, in keeping with the overall character of the building.

A light-filled loft space at the very top of the building has been renovated with weddings and special occasions in mind. As well as outstanding sea views, this area features arched beams and a vaulted ceiling and can hold around 100 guests. There are also a range of newly refurbished event spaces for wedding breakfasts, from intimate VIP rooms to the auditorium for larger parties.

Colette Malik, one of three wedding coordinators at The Exchange 1856, said: “This beautiful Victorian building is brimming with atmosphere and offers a unique space to celebrate your special day. We have everything a bride could want for her big day: a beautiful backdrop, wedding coordinators to help with organisation and tailored food and drink packages to suit every taste and budget. It’s no wonder we’ve been inundated with enquiries.”
