Tie the knot by the coast
Built in 1910, the venue has undergone a £10-million-pound restoration in 2018 to preserve its historic features; couples will fall in love with the Spanish-style architecture and the stunning building makes a lovely backdrop for photographs. The front of the venue features coastal gardens and a large stretch of grass running along the cliffs.
Exchange vows in The St Mary’s Function Suite with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide views over the Whitley Bay coastline and St Mary’s Lighthouse. This area includes a fully stocked bar, service kitchen, a PA system and white walls to match any colour scheme. The
suite is fully accessible by lift and can also be used for the reception if desired.
Or why not opt for a reception on the Roof Terrace with 60 guests who can get up close to the iconic dome, a historic symbol of the North East? Following the wedding ceremony, loved ones can enjoy their drinks reception under the incredible dome in The Gallery. The fine-dining 1910 Restaurant can be used for intimate wedding breakfasts for up to 50 guests and boasts panoramic views.
For couples with a wedding breakfast included in their package, each pair is invited for a tasting session in the restaurant where head chef Mark Percival and his team use only the finest ingredients from local producers where possible.
