Gisborough Hall has a new head chef - and one who has cooked for royalty!
David Sotheran has returned to the four-star hotel after several years working at restaurants around the country. David, from Hartlepool, has cooked for a host of well-known people including Princess Anne, Rowan Atkinson and David Jason, as well as dozens of Premier League footballers. One of his main responsibilities will be to re-launch the bistro at Gisborough Hall, while he'll also be responsible for creating new menus for Chaloner's, the hotel's award-winning restaurant, and developing the popular afternoon tea menus.
David said, "It's a delight to return to the heart of Gisborough Hall as head chef. It's such an exciting time as we're going through many changes, not least re-launching the bistro. The hotel is available for lunch, dinner and afternoon tea, whether it be a special occasion or informal get together with friends. I'm a passionate advocate of local suppliers- and using as much seasonal game and fish in my dishes. We've teamed up with the best of the best and I can't wait to share my new menus."
Ruairidh Taylor, hotel manager, said, "We're all really excited to have David back at Gisborough Hall. He's got some tasty ideas for our new menus and has spent a lot of time putting together his brigade of chefs, made up of lots of local talent."
A recent AA inspection rated Gisborough Hall as one of the top destinations in the North East and North Yorkshire, retaining its AA four 'Silver Star' rating for its overall quality.
