Headlam Hall Country Hotel & Spa

Headlam Hall Country Hotel & Spa is located in the beautiful countryside of lower Teesdale, just between Barnard Castle and Darlington overlooking the rolling farmland estate. The superb 17th-century Jacobean country manor is nestled on four acres and looks impressive from any angle. The grounds are beautifully kept, with a manicured lawn, and a pond with a romantic bridge.

Ceremonies take place in the Coach House Suite, which accommodates up to 150 guests and is a room characterised by its huge arched glass ceiling and stunning chandeliers. Alternatively, the Drawing Room is perfect for an intimate ceremony with up to 40 guests and offers beautiful views. Both of these spaces could be used for the reception as well as the hall’s Stable Lounge. If an alfresco wedding is more to a couple’s liking, a civil ceremony can take place under the Pagoda that overlooks the lawn.

Headlam Spa is a previous winner of leading spa treatment provider Thalgo’s UK Spa of the Year and offers a place to relax, exercise and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of water in an environment that truly reflects the beauty of its surrounding countryside. It’s the ideal venue for pre-wedding treatments.

The bridal party is offered a discount on accommodation and couples are given a complimentary stay on their first anniversary, including breakfast.
