March/April 2022

Hello lovely readers, and welcome to another issue of Your North East Wedding. As the weather warms up and the daffodils start peeping through, it’s time to welcome spring with open arms. We’re one step closer to summer, and although I’m dreaming of those beach days soaking up the sun, spring is such a special time of year. I love being in nature surrounded by pretty flowers, and as a huge animal lover, I’m so excited for adorable animals to be born!

As we get closer to July, I can’t help but get even more excited for my colleague Melissa to tie the knot to the lovely Dave. As a bridesmaid, I’ve loved supporting my close friend and helping her prepare for such an important day – I can’t wait to see her walk down the aisle! I’ve found my perfect attire; a sage green cold-shoulder dress that flows to the floor. All I need now is to find those perfect finishing touches.

The time of year is perfect for exchanging vows, and we can begin utilizing outdoor spaces more for the “I dos”, drinks receptions, garden games, chill out areas and more. Make sure to check out our Glorious Gardens feature, where you’ll discover beautiful venues with amazing surroundings.

In this issue, you’ll also find beauty tips, entertainment ideas, stunning real weddings, venue inspiration and more. We’ve gathered some of the top suppliers from around the county to share their advice regarding wedding dilemmas and last-minute worries.

My time as the editor for Your North East Wedding has come to an end. Over the last two years, I’ve really seen what this amazing region has to offer from the talented suppliers, showstopping venues and inspirational couples – I’m so proud of what you have all achieved.

That’s all from me; now sit back, relax and celebrate anything and everything wedding.

Happy planning!

Editor, Olivia x

Cuddystone Hall

Situated in Northumberland National Park, Cuddystone Hall is a magnificent location surrounded by picturesque scenery. Guests will arrive at the charming site to a three mile, well-maintained driveway that leads to the venue.

Whether it’s classy and romantic weddings where guests drink champagne or more relaxed events with barbecues and children playing by the stream, anything can be possible at the property.

The experienced staff understands what it takes to create wow-factor weddings, and will work alongside couples to bring their vision to life. The venue is hired on an exclusive basis to give pairs more privacy with loved ones, and the team can recommend suppliers to help.

Cuddystone Hall provides a picture-perfect ceremony space with a blank canvas to allow couples to personalise the space to match any colour scheme or theme. Once lovebirds say “I do”, they can ring a bell to highlight the extraordinary moment. There’s a large area beside the hall to accommodate a marquee for receptions, or the celebrations can continue in the hall itself – both are perfect locations to dance the night away.

There are four private holiday houses, two bed and breakfasts and an independent hostel in the valley, which allow friends and family to stay nearby if desired.

Collaboration across continents needed to make bride’s dream dress a reality

Back in 2020, photographs went viral of Jasmine Dauphine, a high school student in Washington DC who was wearing a stunning red dress purchased for her prom – this sadly was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Andréa Benton, a native of Cincinnati, saw the gown and knew she needed it for her wedding. She discovered that the dress was made to order in China by Lunss Couture, a company favoured by American women seeking custom-made affordability.
