Jarrow Hall is offering North East couples an opportunity to get married at its unique location.

Set on an 11-acre environmental oasis in the heart of South Tyneside, the incredibly varied Jarrow Hall site boasts the historic grade II manor Jarrow Hall house, a Romanesque-style museum dedicated to the fascinating life and legacy of the renowned scholar Bede and an extensive farm and village featuring reconstruction Anglo-Saxon buildings.

With a marriage and civil ceremony licence covering a number of these unique spaces, Jarrow Hall promises to be the perfect place for an intimate wedding ceremony, a huge celebration and everything in-between.

Ideal for history lovers, the venue boasts a variety of inspiring indoor and outdoor backdrops to create a memorable day. From the pool room and amphitheatre to the conference room and museum galleries, Jarrow Hall offers something a little different, with a team who will work to accommodate all tastes and preferences.

Couples can celebrate all or any part of their day at Jarrow Hall, enjoying their ceremony alongside wedding breakfasts and evening receptions to suit all budgets.

The venue is suitable for up to 100 guests during the day and 150 guests on an evening, and also carries a late license for alcohol and entertainment.

Leigh Venus, Operations Manager (Culture and Heritage) at Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle is responsible for the direction and development of Jarrow Hall. He said “We are delighted to have the capacity to perform marriages and civil ceremonies in a number of our beautiful spaces. This is an exciting time for Jarrow Hall; our first wedding was a resounding success with excellent feedback, and with bookings filling in already faster than anticipated over the coming year, we are looking forward to hosting more and more couples for their special day”.

Chelsea Dixon, Programme Lead (Events) at Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle is responsible for the delivery of the suite of wedding services at Jarrow Hall. She said “This is really the perfect year-round venue, where we can offer you something entirely different for your special day. Each wedding is tailor-made to suit your requirements, making your day as traditional or unconventional as you wish.

“Couples have a wide variety of indoor and outdoor spaces to choose from, and we also provide exclusive access to the full site from 4pm. Furthermore, your dedicated wedding co-ordinator will support you throughout your planning and will be there for you throughout your special day.

“I urge anyone who is looking for a wedding venue to contact us and speak to one of our wedding advisors.”

Jarrow Hall is operated by Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle working with South Tyneside Council – which owns the Jarrow Hall land and buildings – and supported by Port of Tyne to ensure the venue has a long-term future for the people of South Tyneside, the wider region and beyond.
