New Oden Luxe Cinema opens in Durham

Durham film fans now have the latest cinema luxury and technology on their doorstep with the highly-anticipated ODEON Luxe Durham officially open for business. What better reason to take a break from all the wedding planning and wed-min and spend some quality time together pre-vows! 

The launch could not have come at a better time with a number of huge films such as Rocketman and Aladdin currently available and a host more including X-Men: Dark Phoenix (7 June), Toy Story 4 (21 June) and The Lion King (19 July) just around the corner this Summer.

Durham film fans can enjoy the latest blockbusters in premium comfort with handmade reclining seats across each of the six screens offering guests ample legroom and comfort.

Along with this is premium cinematic technology including a state-of-the-art iSense screen measuring 15m x 6.2m, curved to maximise light reflection and packing cutting-edge Dolby Atmos 3D sound and 4K digital projectors that deliver almost nine million pixels for an even clearer, ultra-high definition picture.

The new cinema also boasts state-of-the-art cinema technology including breath-taking sound delivered by over 189 speakers across all auditoriums, with all standard screens packing Dolby 7.1 surround sound and improved picture quality.

Rounding off the experience are top-of-the-range food and beverage options such as lattice fries and chicken strips along with classic favourites such as sweet and salted popcorn and a Coca Cola Freestyle machine with over 100 different flavours to enjoy.

The cinema also has an Oscar's Bar serving a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, along with freshly brewed coffee from the Costa Coffee station.
