Venue spotlight... Jesmond Dene House: Image 1 Jesmond Dene House is a Grade II listed boutique hotel set within the leafy suburb of Jesmond. Surrounded by Jesmond Dene, a vast woodland with waterfalls and quaint bridges, you feel a thousand miles away, yet minutes from the city centre. The grounds consist of colourful gardens and a sunny terrace. The new Secret Garden is nestled at the bottom of the grounds and boasts a private bar and barbecue area with festoon lighting. Couples can choose to marry outside under the trees with the sound of the waterfall in the background why not celebrate with your very own garden party afterwards?
With a grand stone exterior, pointed rooftops and turret like chimneys, the unique building built by John Dobson dates back to the early 1800s. The interior is a mix of traditional features, with wood panelling, oak ceilings and feature fireplaces, mixed with a modern, chic, yet homely feel.
