Exchange vows at this North East rustic wedding venue

The reception space at The Barn on The Bay, in Northumberland The Barn on The Bay is a farm venue with access to a stunning range of outdoor spaces including the venue’s very own stretch of beach, the paddock leading into the confetti field and a beautifully lit farmyard area next to the veranda.

With the aim to bring the outdoors in, the venue has all of the outdoor features needed for a wedding undercover including real flame lights, festoon lighting, rustic chandeliers, cosy rugs, faux sheepskins, alpaca cushions scattered around the gathering benches and lots of smaller spaces to create a cosy feel in the barn.

The veranda is the perfect place for outdoor drinks receptions and allows friends and family to gather around the heaters while enjoying the views across the farm fields and over the dunes. Soft outdoor lighting makes for the most romantic setting for drinks
under the stars.

Couples will have the option of three ceremony spaces including The Beachside Ceremony Area situated in the dunes and overlooking the sea with capacity for up to 200 guests (100 seated). The Paddock is an outdoor space with a total of 200 people (100 seated) and The Cowshed wedding barn has a capacity for 200 guests all seated. Receptions take place in The Cowshed wedding barn; this rustic agricultural space can seat up to 200 guests with capacity for more in the evening.

We love... that the venue offers familiarisation trips with wine tasting for couples and at the end of the year have a tree-planting ceremony for those married here. The venue even holds ‘Get to know us nights’ and virtual gatherings.
