Nikki Jay Keenan married James David Mason at Charlton Hall on 9th February, 2019.
We wanted a venue no one we knew had visited before, and Charlton Hall ticked that box. It was also quirky and different, and we loved that it had separate areas you could use throughout the day.
I looked at quite a few wedding dresses but always compared them to the first one I tried on. I consider my body shape to be slightly curvy, and this gown accentuated my figure in all the right places.
My bouquet incorporated a mix of roses and hydrangeas in a waterfall effect. We also used flowers in the ceremony room, by the cake and on the wedding tables.
I apply make-up for a living so wanted to do my own wedding make-up on the day. I also chose my hairdresser through work, as I've seen Katie style many a bride's hair at the weddings we've worked on together.
The top table was decorated with fake flowers that draped down the front, while in between we placed small and large candle holders with floating candles.
James's mum made our amazing naked wedding cake its red velvet flavour was delicious! We also had personalised cupcakes for our guests to enjoy in the evening.
I'm lucky that my bridesmaids have similar tastes when it comes to fashion. They all looked incredible in their pink maxi-dresses, complete with low backs and satin bows.
I wanted a candy bar for people to help themselves to,choosing all-white sweets with personalised wedding pick 'n' mix bags. It was a huge success.
We hired a caricaturist to sketch our guests after the ceremony. Everyone loved it his portraits made people laugh and kept them entertained.
I booked fireworks as a surprise for James. There was a spectacular finale, and I'll never forget hearing my guests cheer as they went off. It was the perfect end to a fairytale day.
