Joanna Blades, 36, married James Dil, 33, at Jesmond Dene House on 11th November, 2017.
We were delighted that Jesmond Dene House was available with only 11 weeks' notice. It's a stunning venue and they exceeded all of our expectations.
I asked James to work with navy and crimson for his wedding look and he found a beautiful wool suit, grey single-breasted waistcoat and crimson tie.
This was the very first dress I tried on! I loved the fact it was a fitted lace, fishtail dress with a large chiffon decoupage skirt and train.
The venue was decorated with candles, hurricane lamps and greenery, while we had log slices, terrariums with succulents, candles and vases for the tables.
I let my florist advise on the best blooms to have on the day, with the only real brief being succulents and feathers in the flowers, to tie in with our centrepieces.
Our wedding cake was fantastic and featured layers of Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle with butter cream and chocolate with a ganache centre.
I wanted my bridesmaids to look and feel fantastic, so we opted for rose gold and champagne fitted gowns for the adults, and silver sparkly dresses for our flower girls.
I wanted my make-up to be heavier and not as classic on the day, so opted for smoky, red shades on my eyes.
Some people don't like smartphones at weddings, but we'll always retain the memories of our day through candid pictures captured by family and friends.
I would recommend our wedding band to anyone – they even came to our house before our wedding for a small live performance!
I love how our day was so relaxed. We simply wanted our loved ones around us and for everyone to enjoy our celebration.
