Hello, my name is Claire and I’m addicted to looking at reader weddings. And nope, it’s not those group or couples’ shots I’m yearning for, as gorgeous and glorious as they may well be. In fact, it’s those ‘caught-in-the-moment’ snaps I particularly love, where you or your guest have been papped without even realising. The moment a real wedding gallery pings in my inbox I’m on it, poring through the evening reception photos for the perfect shots that capture your big day to perfection. By this time those nerve-wracking speeches have been spoken, and the drinks have been flowing, with everyone properly letting their hair down for the first time that day. The result? Some cracking wedding pictures. Groom deciding his tie is better suited around his head than his neck? Check. Female guests’ sky-scraper heels abandoned for some serious moves on the dance floor? Check. I can go on and on…
With my guilty confession in mind, it goes without saying that this issue has a host of amazing wedding photography for you to savour. We’ve 12 pages of stunning reader weddings to enjoy, starting on p27, and two exclusive local shoots for you to be inspired by, shot on location at Northumberland’s Lough House Farm (p45), and Newcastle’s The Willows at The Woodmans (p78). Lumley Castle Hotel

| 94% of dog owners getting married want to involve their pets |
| |
On the biggest day of their lives, 94% of dog owners planning a wedding for this year revealed they will give their dog a starring role in the celebrations. This shows a new trend for this year, increasing by more than a third (39%) since pre-Covid and reaching more than three times the level of 30 years ago (213% increase). The new research by charity Guide Dogs shows that the wedding roles dogs can expect to play over the next 12 months will vary. The most common roles were however found to be starring in the first dance (42%), walking a bride down the aisle (39%), being the Dog of Honour or Best Man (37%) or taking ringbearer responsibilities (30%).
