Your North East Wedding - September/October 2022 (Issue 52)

My two best friends, Jodie and Emily, were my bridesmaids, wearing sage green floaty maxi dresses with V-necks and bow backs. I’m a singer and wanted my fellow bandmate Dan McClew to sing Leon Bridges’ River as I walked down the aisle. It was really special to have Dan as a guest enjoying our day as well as singing and entertaining everyone throughout our wedding. My mam and dad walked me down the aisle, which meant a lot. We’ve had a tough couple of years with my mam being unwell, so having her there was amazing. I was so nervous the day before and Mitch was really chilled out, but when it got to the day it was me who was the calm one! I think the moments caught by Ruth and Ben in the ceremony show how we were feeling! Mitch, his best man, my dad and our two page boys all wore matching suits, with the men accessorising their outfits with pocket watches. Our good friends and neighbours Tony and Gillian sorted our wedding cars, with my parents and I arriving in a 1980s Bentley Mulsanne, while Mitch and his best man Sandall turned up in a 2022 Audi e-tron GT. One of our photographers, Ben, is also the bass player in our Nineties dance band, For Kicks. Straight away we said we wanted him and Ruth for our photos. We love their candid style, plus they make you feel so comfortable. 41 REAL WEDDINGS
