Q&A Beauty Achieve your dream wedding look with help from the experts https://rachaelfraser.photography LOOKING YOUR BEST I’m getting married at 40 and have a few fine lines and wrinkles. How can I best conceal these on my wedding day without looking caked in make-up? Fine lines and wrinkles aren’t something that make-up can change. The key to making your skin look its best is to keep it hydrated and plump by drinking plenty of water and using a hyaluronic acid serum. In terms of make-up, using light layers of each product is best to avoid that cakey look. A foundation and concealer with radiant finishes will create a luminous effect, while disguising any fine lines. In the 12 months running up to your wedding, I always advise clients to get into a regular and targeted skincare routine. Great skin will help your make-up artist ensure your base is as flawless as possible for the special day. Invest in products tailored to address any issues you struggle with, such as dryness, blackheads, or pigmentation – a monthly facial treatment in a salon is also beneficial. Always remember to include your neck and décolletage area in your skincare routine, as these regions will benefit from a little tender loving care and are often on show in wedding dresses. Once you get within a few weeks of your date, don’t make any changes to your routine or try new products. It’s a time for sticking to what you know and not giving your skin any surprises that may break you out before the big day. Finally, and most importantly, drink plenty of water, eat well, rest and try to reduce any stress. Taking care of yourself will help you look and feel your best once the wedding day arrives.
