January/February 2019

Congratulations if you’re one of the many couples celebrating Christmas and new year by getting engaged! This might be the first wedding magazine you’ve scooped off the shelf, rushing to the till to pay for your purchase (while making sure the shop assistant gets a decent look at that sparkler on your finger).

Regardless of whether you’re only just beginning to plan your dream wedding or are counting down the days until your happy-ever-after, our latest issue is packed full of serious style inspiration to ensure your big day is nothing short of phenomenal. Looking for a wedding photographer who can capture your celebration in a style that suits you as a couple? Our A-Z wedding photography guide is full of essential advice from some of the North East’s best snappers (p49). Still searching for the perfect dress but not sure what suits your shape? We’ve got you covered with our handy wedding dress guide on page 57. There are also three unbelievably stylish reader weddings for you to enjoy, showcasing the very best wedding venues and suppliers the North East has to offer. Grab a cuppa, sink in to the sofa and flick to page 29 to find out more.

Make sure to enter our exclusive competitions too, starting with winning your own pair of bespoke bridal shoes from Middlesbrough-based Kate Fearnley (p10). We’ve also secured £250 off wedding videography and 20 per cent off wedding stationery (p13), plus the chance to win a dream honeymoon in Barbados on p103!

Enjoy planning the best day of your lives…

Doxford Hall Hotel

Northumberland’s Doxford Hall is a classic country house hotel and the only venue in the county with a 4 AA red star rating. Having just celebrated its 200th anniversary, its Georgian style arises from features such as a grand entrance way that incorporates elegant stone columns, beautifully proportioned sash windows and a soft sandstone facade draped by ivy.

The country house style runs throughout, with each area featuring light-filled spaces, high ceilings and sumptuous interiors. The spa includes a 12m indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi steam room, sauna and relaxation area, while there are also five treatment rooms dedicated to pampering.

When it’s time to wed, you’ve a choice of options: the Kennedy Suite (200 guests), the Flower Room (20 guests), the George Runciman (120 guests), the Northumberland Room (50 guests) or the Library (50 guests). There’s also a pagoda in the grounds, which is licensed for ceremonies for up to 24.
